Joyce Wu

Dr. Wan-Hsuan (Joyce) Wu is an active concert pianist and a dedicated music educator. She enjoys working in diverse environments with students of all levels and backgrounds. As an active solo and collaborative concert pianist, Joyce had appeared on concert stages in Asia, Europe, and North America. She was a founding member of various chamber music groups such as Trio Thallasea and Ensemble Cameranze. In 2022, Joyce co-founded The Woven Sounds, a 501(c)(3) piano duo. Its mission is to promote musical works by classical composers of Asian descent or those inspired by Asian folk tunes through concert performances and educational initiatives.
Dr. Wu currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Austin Community College in Austin, TX, providing instructions in Music Appreciation, American Music, and Applied Piano courses. Joyce received both Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in piano performance from The University of Texas at Austin under the guidance of internationally renowned pianist, Professor Nancy Burton Garrett. Her academic interest extended to the musicological field while concentrating on perfecting her performance skills. Dr. Wu researched and completed her doctoral treatise—Beethoven Through Liszt: Myth, Performance, Edition under the supervision of late Dr. K. M. Knittel.
Chin-Fei

A multifaceted performing artist and dedicated educator, Chin-Fei performs internationally as a solo flutist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist. She received both the Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in flute performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) under the guidance of Dr. Jonathan Keeble and Alexander Murray. She has performed in live broadcasts on WILL 90.1 and WTTW (one of the PBS member stations in Chicago) and has been invited to perform at the National Flute Association’s annual convention for four consecutive years from 2016-2019, premiering both solo and chamber music. She was on the faculty of the University of Illinois Unit One undergraduate program and given the Excellence in Teaching awards.
Chin-Fei performs with Silicon Valley Philharmonic and is a member of Teal Crane Trio, a group that focuses on original compositions, new arrangements and improvisational works. She maintains a private studio and is on the faculty of the Community School of Music and Arts. In addition to music, Dr. Chan is an AmSAT-certified Alexander Technique instructor. She works extensively with musicians and dancers in helping them gain a deep understanding and approach to prevent injuries while enhancing their performance.
