2024 Jackie McGehee Young Artists’ Competition

Tatyana Bayliyeva’s student Kate Shao won 1st place at the 2024 Jackie McGehee Young Artists’ Competition. Accompanied by her win, later that year, she had the amazing opportunity to perform Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” with the New Mexico Philharmonics under the direction of conductor Na’Zir McFadden. It was a very successful performance by Kate Shao and a sold out show!

2024 MTNA Competition

Sean and Daniel Choi, students of Tatyana Bayliyeva, made history by winning 1st place in the Southwest Division of the MTNA competition, marking the first time New Mexico was represented at the National level. Their remarkable performance continued at the 2024 National competition, where they earned 2nd place, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication to music.

2022 YoungArts Award in Voice

Talia Czuchlewski was honored with a 2022 YoungArts award in Voice, achieving recognition at the Merit level, the organization’s third-highest distinction. She joins a cohort of 720 highly talented young artists in visual, literary, and performing arts from across the country. YoungArts award recipients benefit from access to one of the nation’s most comprehensive artist development programs, offering ongoing financial, creative, and professional support throughout their careers.
