Amy Greer is a pianist, teacher and writer. She has maintained successful piano studios in New Mexico, Massachusetts, Texas and Missouri, and has been recognized for her creative approach to traditional piano teaching. Over the years, her students have been recognized with awards in performance and composition. A frequent contributor to various music publications, she has been a regular columnist for American Music Teacher. Ms. Greer is an active performer, both as a soloist and in collaboration with singers and instrumentalists.
Ms. Greer received a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Missouri – Columbia. Her teachers have included Jane Allen, Joanne Baker and William Westney. She is currently working on a graduate degree in Educational Psychology at the University of New Mexico. She shares her home, garden, and brightly colored studio with her husband, two cats and three feisty beta fish.
